MEDITERRANEA
This Festival is a showcase of the artistic heritage and the contemporary
cultural milieu of this tiny island in the centre of the Mediterranean.
The festival intends to show the visitor an uninterrupted evolution
of culture spanning seven millennia - starting with the unparalelled
Prehistoric Temple
Culture down to the contemporary artists
and the arts. Mediterranea is set
on one of the most beautiful times of the year on Gozo - warm and
sunny November. The festival is organised by the Teatru Astra, a
leading theatre in Gozo.
The organisers present a product whereby the visitor
gets a feel of all that makes up one island's culture - the prehistoric
temples, traditional music, folklore, churches,
opera and symphonic music, natural heritage, brass bands, museums,
classical music and more.
