'Ħal-Far's degrading conditions violated human rights' - ECtHR

In a landmark case against Malta concerning immigration detention conditions, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ordered Malta to pay an illegal immigrant €30,000 in damages after it stated that the Lyster Barracks detention centre in Ħal-Far constituted degrading treatment.
