Malta’s inflation among highest in the EU

The latest release of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) by the National Statistics Office has confirmed the upward trend in inflation, up to 4.4%, which is particularly high considering the fact that economic activity is weak and also at a time when international oil prices have fallen substantially.
